Are you finding yourself exhausted from being stuck in the same cycle and pattern day after day and things not getting better?
Feeling irritable and tired of not being heard, understood, doubting yourself, and feeling lost.
You want to start doing something different and to find some relief from the anxiety, depression, stress, and overwhelm, but it feels impossible.
Do you find yourself feeling alone and disconnected, even when you’re around friends or loved ones?
It feels like you’ve been pouring out for everyone and are now running on fumes?
Sometimes we don’t realize when things started going wrong but just that they are very wrong and that we don’t know how to fix it.
The first step is usually the hardest, but the good news is that you’ve just taken it!

As human begins, we are created for connection and love; to love and be loved.
However, part of being human is the imperfection that we carry. That imperfection causes distortions and failures to occur in how we can carry out and hold the love we crave.
Because of this, we cause and feel pain.
This forms cycles and patterns in our lives and relationships that continue and are passed on from generation to generation.
This can be the step to start breaking the intergenerational cycles; and to bring about healing- to yourself, to your relationships, and for your future.
“... if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing it’s stupid.”
You have found the right place to begin your healing journey!

About Me
….
FOUNDER & PSYCHOTHERAPIST
I completed my Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mercer University. Originally, I had a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) background, however I now use CBT and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) mostly to provide coping skills.
My main approach to therapy is is the Emotionally Focused Therapy and Attachment perspectives. These approaches help clients identify the roots for the behaviors, understand it and themselves better, and gain the awareness needed to create real and long-lasting change.
I am specializing in relational therapy- including the relationship with self, with parents, children, significant others, friends, etc.
I have experience working with individuals (adolescents (15+) and adults), couples, and families through various issues including anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, parenting, grief, different types of infidelity, communication, and more.
I have experience working with therapists and other mental health professionals as clients within individual and couples therapies.
I have been married for 10 years, and have an inter-racial/biracial family; including two kids of elementary school age.
My husband was a Gwinnett County Firefighter for a few years and is currently a paramedic. I have personal and professional experience working with First Responders and the specific stressors that they face.
I am of Christian faith, and have provided support to people in various walks of life. Clients choose whether they would like to have any kind of spiritual component added to their therapy or not.
I understand the ongoing struggle for work/life balance, parenting, marriage, and self-care routines. It's not easy to hold all the parts of ourselves. It's even harder when we are trying to do it alone.
I am here to walk alongside you in this process of re-engaging, re-connecting, and breaking negative cycles to create the fulfilling and safe relationships that you long for.
“Immigrating, as a child, to the US from Mexico was a tough and a complicated life transition and experience. When I struggled with self-esteem, relationships, sense of purpose, and getting stuck in loops/patterns, I was alone. I became a therapist to be the person that I didn’t have but needed throughout my life. Humans are hardwired for connection, and when we are/feel disconnected, we feel so much pain. I’m here with you and alongside you to help you understand and navigate that distress.”
I believe we shouldn't go through life alone; there is hope !

Services
-
Individual Therapy
One- on- one therapy sessions to talk through, to process, to learn, to be seen, and to be heard. We will dig deep into experiences, attachment framework, the different roles we have in our lives, and areas for growth. I will usually give homework on a weekly basis, provide resources, and other helpful tools.
-
Relational Therapy
Whether it is romantic, familial, or interpersonal relationships, we will come together to learn about the Attachment Framework, and other components affecting the relationship. My role is to be a neutral party who’s main focus is the relationship; to hold each person where they are, learn about their behaviors, the roots, and the meaning. We will track the relational cycle, gain understanding, do something different, and begin breaking that negative cycle.
**When possible, extended 90-minute sessions are highly recommended for relational therapy. This is due to the amount of information and processing needed per session, and to create a steadier pace for progress.

This is a brief 10-15 minute phone consultation to gather a large-scale overview of the issue(s), type of therapy needed, determine fit for scheduling/availability, and gather information for next steps: creating client portals, completing paperwork, etc.
The client-therapist fit is one of the most important aspects of therapy!
